ABOUT THE CLASSES

The field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is growing rapidly. Current workers can enroll in ICT courses to increase their skills, earning power, and competitiveness in the job market. Multiple certifications are available at NO-COST to participants. Part of the EDC’s Ventura County Digital Upskilling Training Program.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THESE CLASSES?

Adult learners who already have some basic digital skills but need training and/ or specific industry certifications/credentials to qualify for more opportunities.

COMPTIA CERTIFICATIONS

CERTIFICATIONS EARNED:

Completers earn a certification in:

CompTIA A+: learn cutting-edge fundamentals of computer hardware and software and how to troubleshoot a wide range of devices. A+ is the industry standard for establishing a career in IT and the preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles.
CompTIA Security+: gain core cybersecurity knowledge to secure systems, software and hardware. Security+ is a global certification that validates the baseline skills necessary to perform core security functions and pursue an IT security career.

CREDENTIALS EARNED:

Students can earn credentials in:

Cloud Foundations (Introductory): Get an overall understanding of cloud computing services, applications and use cases.
Cloud Architecting (Intermediate): Learn the fundamentals of building IT infrastructure on AWS.
Cybersecurity (Optional Specialty): Get hands-on experience with Big Data analysis with practical, real-world examples.
Data Analysis (Optional Specialty): Learn cybersecurity principles and services for cloud computing.
